Disha is the winner of ICFJ's 2018 Global Health Reporting Contest Award, and was a 2019 RAF fellow to the UN reporting on the General Assembly with a focus on climate change. She has received multiple reporting grants from the Pulitzer Center and the Earth Journalism Network (EJN), along with a grant from the International Women's Media Fund (IWMF).
Her work has appeared in The Fuller Project, Undark, Hakai Magazine, Forbes, and IndiaSpend, among others. She has held full-time positions with IndiaSpend, DNA, Zee Digital and the Times Group in India. She currently covers women with a focus on climate, environment and health issues in South Asia for The Fuller Project.
Disha holds a masters in Science, Environment and Medicine Journalism from Columbia University, a PG Diploma in TV journalism from the Asian College of Journalism, and a Bachelors in Mass Media (BMM) from SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Nerul).
