Talks, workshops & mentoring
Disha has been a speaker on a UN panel to commemorate the World Press Day (2021). She has delivered talks at organizations like Khoj Studios, ATREE, TERI and WRI-India, elaborating on her experiences as a journalist reporting on health and environmental issues in India. She has also been interviewed by The Guardian and BBC World Service's Newsday radio programme for insights on climate change in India.
She has spoken to post-graduate students at Hyderabad University, Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) in Chennai and the Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (IIJNM) in Bengaluru - among India's top journalism institutes.
Internationally, Disha has spoken to students at Columbia University's Journalism School, Richmond University and Hong Kong University.
In addition, she has conducted a virtual workshop on behalf of Columbia Global Centers Amman as well as an in-person one at the East West Center's Media Conference in Hawaii in 2022 on covering climate change.
Disha has spoken to school students in South Africa and Georgia as part of her outreach activity on behalf of the Pulitzer Center. She has also mentored two student reporting fellows for the Pulitzer Center so far.
